Step Five: Your
Online Librarian, Maryland's AskUsNow
A 24/7 Information Resource
AskUsNow is an award-winning service
you can access anytime, day or night. This part of the tutorial will walk
you through some steps to get you familiar with the service.
Before we get started, there are a
few things you should know:
The service is free.
Ask the online librarian same types of
questions you would ask your local library's Reference desk librarian.
It's called "AskUsNow" in Maryland, but
something different in other states. You may be connected with a librarian
in California or New Jersey - it just depends who is covering the service
at the time.
If the librarian that is helping you
can't find the answer, she or he may transfer you to someone who
can.
To use this service, you can enter
through the link on the CCPL Web site.
Ready to give it
a try? First review the service with this brief presentation:
Click on Keyboard Kitty.
Instructions:
The Presentation will open in another window. Just click the
Mouse to advance the show. When you are through, click on the "X" in
the upper right corner of your screen to close the window.
When you are
finished, scroll down to the bottom of this screen!
