Friend of the
Library,
Thanks to your membership and generous support, the Friends of the Rising
Sun Branch Library can report another successful year. The Rising Sun
Branch is one of the most heavily used of all the Cecil County Public
Library branches. Your membership along with other fund raising activities
makes a big difference. With the help of Friends like you we can expand the
services and materials provided by the Cecil County Public Library System.
This
year will see some changes in the library and enhancements in the service.
The library is receiving new computers to enable more patrons to make use of
the resources available on-line. The Friends are providing the funds for
six computer stations. In order to accommodate the added computers, the
Friends have funded double face audio/visual shelving and display shelving.
Once the installation is complete, you can enjoy an updated library.
While
the book, bake and yard sales raise significant funds, the largest portion
of our funds comes from generous members like you. We were particularly
blessed this year with the generous contributions of Bessie Graham and
William Graham.
October is membership month. We urge you to continue your membership by
returning the enclosed envelope with your donation and please invite others
to become members. You are invited to attend our annual meeting on MONDAY
OCTOBER 17th 2005 at the Rising Sun Branch Library at 8:00 PM.
There will be a short business meeting and election of officers for the
coming year. Nominations will be accepted from the floor. The current
officers are: President – Marilyn O’Connell, Vice President – Helena
Schulz, Treasurer – Donna Hayes, and Secretary – Connie George. We hope to
see you at the meeting.
