Step Three: InterLibrary
Loans Finding books outside
Cecil County
Finding books outside Cecil County
is easier and faster than ever. This system is called "Interlibrary
Loans" or "Marina" for Maryland's participating libraries.
To find a book from another Maryland
library, go through the CCPL Catalog and into "I Need Material." Or, you
can just click on Marina's logo from the link on the library's Web site.
There are a
few things you should know.
You can't request books from another library IF:
They are in the CCPL Catalog.
The materials are bestsellers are books that are on order for the Cecil
County Public Library.
They are Reference books.
They are audio/visual materials. (There are some exceptions to this
rule. When in doubt, please ask at the library.)
It normally doesn't take long to get your books - usually within a week or
two. They are often checked out for the regular three-week loan
period, but you can't renew them.
Usually, there are no fees for this service (other than overdue fines if
you don't them back in time).
If you have any questions, please call the Reference Department at
410-996-5600, ext. 481.
