AWARDS CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
The Cecil County Public
Library Board of Trustees awarded the construction contract for the
Perryville Branch Library to Paul Risk Associates, Inc., of Maryland and
Pennsylvania, at its May 8 meeting. One of the area’s leading general
contractors, Paul Risk Associates has strong ties to Cecil County, with an
office in Port Deposit, MD. Construction on the project will begin in
June. The new branch is expected to open by the Fall of 2007. The general
contractors proposals were evaluated based on cost and qualifications. Paul
Risk Associates, Inc., was not only the lowest bidder, the company also met
the library’s qualifications criteria. Construction will total
$4,747,270.00.
The new Perryville Branch
will feature 25 public access computers, a technology lab, a 75 person
meeting room, a drive through check-out window, self-check out stations, the
capacity to hold 70,000 items in the complete collection and a café.
The Cecil County Public
Library operates six branches located throughout Cecil County, MD. The
library serves over 44,000 registered borrowers. The mission of the Cecil
County Public Library is to provide access to educational and cultural
