Success Story
ASHLEY'S HOMETOWN EMBROIDERY
230 Highland Drive, Elkton, MD

Bob
Weber and his wife Polly were
inspired by their daughter Ashley to develop their own business, called Ashley’s
Hometown Embroidery. They offer
full-service embroidery of specialty hats, shirts, and more to both individual
and corporate customers and they are already planning to expand their capacity
with more machines. Their hope is to
leave their three year old, Ashley, a business that will provide financial
security.
Bob Weber credits his
successful entry to small business on the research he did.
He gives some very good advice to aspiring small business owners;
“Do your research and don’t be afraid to ask
for help.”
Bob started by taking
seminars offered by
Cecil
County
Community College.
Then, he met with Pat Hogan of the
Small
Business
Development
Center.
She worked with him on his business plan and referred him to the Cecil
County Public Library. Bob’s timing
couldn’t have been better. The
Small
Business
Information
Center co-hosted an evening program
with Harry Hammond of SCORE entitled “Going To the Bank” that was presented
by a local banker. Bob attended the
program…went to the bank…and now he is in business.
