Ricardo Bennett is
following in his uncle’s footsteps and a childhood dream to own a carwash.
However, Riccardo has added a modern twist: his is a mobile carwash. He was
one of the SBIC’s first and youngest (age 27) clients. He came to our first
programs in 2004, sat and talked about his interest in starting a mobile car
wash, and was the first to use the Business Plan Pro software to write his
business plan.
Ricardo brings his
carwash to you. All you have to do is call for an appointment. In addition
to washing about 20 cars per week, Ricardo has company contracts to wash car
fleets for Nationwide Insurance in Newark, Clark Properties in Middletown,
and Integrity Mortgage and UPS in Bear.
He named his company
Barachel which means “God has blessed.” In his first year of business, he
has earned $10,000 and says, “I’m not in any debt, I completely own my
business…God is the reason why I’m making it.”
Ricardo grew up in a
sleepy little town in Georgia. When he joined the Army, he was assigned to
the Aberdeen Proving Ground. Love and marriage kept him here. He attended
Cecil Community College to study accounting, and he found a position with
UPS. Now, he has two jobs. Proudly, one is his own business.
