Sealed proposals for the "Elkton Central Renovations" for the Cecil County Public Library, Board of Library Trustees, will be received until
10:30 AM. Local time, June 3, 2011
at the Cecil County Public Library Administrative Headquarters, Elkton Central Library, 301 Newark Avenue, Elkton, MD 21921-5441, after which they will be publicly opened and recorded. Electronically submitted bid proposals will not be accepted.
The work includes the following major items: Architectural work includes selective interior demolition; selective concrete slab removal and replacement; casework; hollow metal frames; wood doors; door hardware; aluminum storefront windows; glazing; gypsum and metal stud partitions; ceramic tile; acoustic panel ceilings; resilient flooring; carpet tile; painting; toilet accessories; prefabricated metal canopies. Mechanical work includes modifications and extension of existing ductwork. Plumbing includes new toilet room and ADA accessible roll-in shower; mop sink. Electrical work includes modifications to existing power and supplementary branch wiring and circuitry for new layout and to serve systems furniture (systems furniture by others); modifications to existing and supplementary data wiring and devices from Owner's existing network; lighting; and fire alarm modifications.
On or after 10:30 AM May 17, 2011, the bid package may be examined or purchased at the Cecil County Public Library, Administrative Headquarters, 301 Newark Avenue, Elkton, MD 21921 (410-996-1055). Copies of these documents may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 payable to Cecil County Public Library, which is non-refundable.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Cecil County Public Library Administrative Headquarters, Elkton Central Library, on May 18, 2011 at 10:30 AM. A tour of the facility will be conducted at this time.
The Board of Library Trustees reserves the right to show preference to fully responsive general contractor(s) who meets the strict definition of local contractor as specified within this document, not to exceed 6% total preference.
All work must be completed according to applicable local, state and federal laws, guidelines, regulations, etc. to include the following:
- International Building Code, latest edition, including all revisions
- American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) latest edition, including all revisions.
- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) product ratings latest edition, including all revisions.
