>Librarian II - Children’s Services Supervisor, Elkton Branch

The Cecil County Public Library seeks a highly motivated librarian interested in a career opportunity serving the public and making a difference in children’s lives. CCPL is currently hiring a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Children’s Services Supervisor for the Elkton Branch.

 

Under the general supervision of the Central Library Branch Manager, the Children’s Services Supervisor will lead and manage the children’s services department in Elkton and will develop, manage and deliver a full range of effective and innovative programs and services that meet the needs of the children, families, and care givers within the community. Works cooperatively with the Branch Manager and Youth Services Manager to develop children’s services. Additional duties include circulation, reader’s guidance and research assistance for patrons of all ages, as needed. Requires an ALA accredited MLS and two years of professional library work experience with children and supervision, excellent customer service, communication and computer skills. Regular schedule includes day, evening and weekend hours. Starting salary is $48,005 per year.

Under the direct supervision of the Branch Manager, the Library Associate will develop and conduct library and reading related activities for young people ages 12 and up. Additional duties include circulation, reader’s guidance and research assistance for patrons of all ages, as needed. Requires BA/BS, excellent customer service, communication and computer skills, and experience working with young adults. Regular schedule includes day, evening and weekend hours.
