This professional, managerial, and supervisory position is responsible for the public services operations of the Chesapeake City Branch.

     

     

    Areas of responsibility include coordination of operations and supervising Adult, Children's, and Circulation services, training and developing staff, marketing collections and services, ensuring the delivery of quality library materials and services to the public, and managing general/routine branch related facility/security issues.

     

    Requires at least 3 years of supervisory experience, excellent customer service, communications and technical skills. Master's degree in Library Science from a program accredited or recognized as an equivalent by the ALA required. Regular full-time (37.5 hr/wk) schedule includes day, evening and weekends hours. Additional flexibility may be required. Starting salary is $48,005 - 53,127, based on experience. Excellent benefits package. Position open until filled. EOE.

    The Cecil County Public Library seeks a highly motivated Librarian interested in a career opportunity serving the public and making a difference in children's lives. CCPL is currently hiring a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Children's Services Supervisor (Librarian) at the Perryville Branch Library.

     

    Under the general supervision of the Perryville Branch Manager, the Children's Services Librarian will lead and manage the children's services department (1 full-time and 2 part-time staff) of the Perryville Branch Library and will develop, manage, and deliver a full range of effective and innovative programs and services to meet the needs of the children (age 0-11), families, and caregivers of Perryville and Port Deposit. Works cooperatively with Elkton Children's Services Librarian and the Assistant Director to develop children's services. Additional duties include circulation, reader's guidance and research assistance for patrons of all ages, as needed.

     

    Requires MLS from an ALA-accredited program, and the ability to obtain and maintain Professional Public Librarian Certification from the MD State Office of Education. Minimum of 2 years professional library work experience with children and supervision, preferably in a library setting. Excellent customer service, communication and computer skills, and experience working with children required. Regular schedule includes day, evening and weekend hours. Starting salary is $44,651 per year. EOE. Position is open until filled.

    The Cecil County Public Library seeks a highly motivated Librarian interested in a career opportunity serving the public and making a difference in people's lives. CCPL is currently hiring a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Adult Services Supervisor (Librarian) at the Perryville Branch Library.

     

    Under the direct supervision of the Perryville Branch Manager, the Adult Services Supervisor/Librarian will lead and manage the adult services department (2 full-time and 2 part-time) of the Perryville Branch and will develop and delivery of a full range of effective and innovative programs and services, which are consistent with the library's mission and meet the needs of adults in the Perryville Community. Works cooperatively with the Elkton Adult Services Supervisor, Perryville Branch Manager, Assistant Director and Adult Services Staff throughout the system.

CCPL is currently hiring a part-time (19 hrs/wk) Library Associate with a focus on Children's Services at the Rising Sun Branch Library.

     

    Under the direct supervision of the Branch Manager, the Library Associate will develop and conduct library and reading related programs and activities for children ages 0-11. Additional duties include circulation, reader's guidance and research assistance for patrons of all ages, as needed.

     

    Requires BA/BS, excellent customer service, communication and computer skills, and experience working with children. Regular schedule includes day, evening and weekend hours. Starting salary is $17.56 per hour. For first consideration apply by October 31, 2014. EOE.
