Singing Bird

Roisin McAuley.

Singing Bird is a touching fictional story which delves into the complex subject of closed adoptions.  Lena Malloy, after receiving a mysterious phone call from the nun in Ireland who arranged the adoption of her daughter 26 years prior, is driven to find her daughter's birth parents.  The story is about Lena's search but also is a love story, a mystery, a story about friendship and personal boundaries, and the innate need to know about one's heritage.  The intriguing twists and turns as the story unfolds kept the pages turning as I wanted to know what was going to happen next.   I loved the ending of the story which came around to the true understanding as to why Lena started the search for her daughter's birth parents.
