Academy 7

Anne Osterlund.

At first sight, this book looked like pure chick-lit (not that it isn't fun to read chick-lit now and again), but Academy 7 is not just your average romance. Aerin is a fugitive on her father's spaceship who finds a home at the most elite school in the galaxy. Dane has a bad-boy reputation that masks some serious family issues and quickly becomes Aerin's rival for top student in the class. They become reluctant friends and slowly begin to trust one another, but neither realizes that their families are tied together in a political battle that could divide the universe as well as Aerin and Dane. Definitely a case of "Don't judge a book by its cover."
