Annika Truman always wins, but when her little brother gets cancer, Annika encounters an opponent that will be hard to beat. She does some research on healing through positive thinking and decides this is how she and her brother will win this battle. To get her brother to believe he will get through his upcoming surgery successfully, she tells him she has a genie who will grant him two of her wishes. She assumes Jeremy will ask for his surgery to go well and for the Teen Robin Hood action figure he's been talking about for months. Instead, Jeremy wants the real Teen Robin Hood to give him an archery lesson and Annika is determined to make his wish come true. What follows is a hilarious and touching story all about awkward moments, a road trip, romance, and the things that matter the most in life.
