Slip away into a magical adventure in Knights of the Kitchen Table. It is the first book in a series called The Time Warp Trio by Jon Scieszka. It's Joe's birthday and he recieves a present from his uncle who happens to be a magician. He and his friends are eagerly anticipating a magical cape or a disappearing coin trick box.  However, to all of their dismay, the present happens to be a book of all things. However, it is no ordinary book, and it travels the boys through time where they have many adventures with King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table and Merlin the Magician.
