The Sky Is Everywhere
Seventeen-year-old Lennie is experiencing the loss of her sister and the kind of emotions that would be extremely difficult to put into words, but somehow author Jandy Nelson does just that. Through lyrical language and moving images, The Sky is Everywhere takes the reader on a journey with Lennie as she begins to grow up and out of her older sister's shadow. Lennie's stuck in an awkward place as her sister's boyfriend is one of the only people who really understands her grief, but she's starting to have feelings for him and is plagued with guilt. At the same time, she's also attracted to a new boy at school who takes her out of her sadness with his contagious smile and his passion for life. A quirky cast of characters rounds out this story of life, loss, and finding your true self.

So glad you liked it! This is a favorite of many of our staff...
I returned this book today and someone should grab it fast! This truly is a beautifully written and soulful story. A wonderful read for adults and teens alike. You will feel incredible sadness and total joy along the way as Lennie navigates her way back to some kind of normal after the loss of her beloved sister. I won't forget this one anytime soon.
Nice site ....)
I loved this book and have since recommended it to several friends. I don't think I've ever read such a beautiful and real portrayal of grief. Don't let the premise of the book scare you away - yes, it deals with death, but the book is also very joyful, whimsical and lovely. This would make an excellent book discussion read for teens OR adults.
