This is a story by an Elkton native writing about another local author. Barbara Zahn grew up reading the Elsie Dinsmore books, which were written by Martha Finley of Elkton. Like J.K. Rowling, Martha was very interested in a writing career but was told that women should not pursue this occupation. Like Rowling, she was successful. The home she had built at 259 East Main Street in Elkton is indicative of her financial success as an author.
