Unbroken: A WWII Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption
I'm not a war history buff, in fact, I tend to avoid those types of books altogether, but this book was incredible. The story takes the reader through the inspiring life of Luis Zamperini. The book includes tales of childhood delinquency with eventual redemption due to his love of track and a quest to run the fastest mile. The book tells of Zamperini fighting in WWII as a bombardier and as a prisoner in a Japanese POW camp. Hillenbrand's knack for telling a story makes this book a great read. I recommend this book to history buffs as well as those who enjoy tales of inspiration.
