My Dog Skip

Warner Home Video

This is a must-see movie. It was originally released in 1999, however the story is timeless. Based on the biography of Willie Morris, the story takes place in 1940 in a little town on the banks of the Yazoo River. It's a tale of a boy and his dog, inseparable companions who share in the most wonderful adventures until Willie, played by Frankie Muniz, heads off to college. The cast also includes Diane Lane and Kevin Bacon as Willie's parents. The film also stars "Eddie" from "Frasier" fame as Skip. I recommend this movie to everyone. I guarantee it will make you laugh and cry.

For anyone who has ever loved a dog, this movie will absolutely leave you in tears. Even though it is set in the 1940's we can all relate to the freedom and innocence of our childhood and feel sad for the loss of it. And of course there is that really cute dog!
