Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution, and How it Can Renew America
Friedman is the author of many bestselling books on the most pressing issues of our time, including the bestseller, The World is Flat. His engaging style keeps you reading intently throughout this new insightful book about the environmental and energy challenges of the 21st Century. Although he doesn't mince words about the scope of the issues and their implications, he is all about realistic solutions. His analysis of the world today and tomorrow-increasingly hot, flat (rapidly growing middle classes around the world) and crowded (exponential population growth), makes a very strong case for bold action now. Friedman then pulls together the insights of leaders in business, science, and the environmental community from around the world and summarizes multifaceted plans that offer hope and even inspiration. This is essential reading for people who want a current and readable book on "the energy-climate era" in which we live.

Just checked the CDBook out... 17 CDs! Whew, hope the reader is good.
I listened to this book--the library has it on CD-Book as well. Thomas Friedman really challenges our thinking in this one. Might make a good book discussion or program topic.
