Something, Maybe by Elizabeth Scott is an often funny, sometimes sad story about Hannah, an average teen girl with not-so-average parents. To say it would be embarrassing to have this particular pair of parents would be an understatement. Her father Jackson is a seventy-two-year-old man who carries on like someone half his age. He has his own reality TV show featuring his exploits with his "special girls" at his castle in New York. Her mother Candy used to be one of his "special girls" until she became pregnant with Hannah. Now Candy is a thirty-something bombshell who makes her living by appearing on her own web-show while wearing very little clothing. To deal with her infamous parents, Hannah has perfected the art of keeping a low profile in her current hometown. She has protected herself from the attention of the opposite sex because she's afraid she's inherited some sex-crazed gene. Luckily she does have one female friend to share her concerns with as she navigates her feelings for Josh and Finn, the two guys she works with at the fast food call center. When her father tries to reestablish a relationship with her after five years, things get even more complicated as she sorts out who likes her for herself and not just for her family connections.
