The Keeper of Lost Causes
I am a big fan of Swedish author Henning Mankell. His atmospheric and suspenseful mysteries were so good that I read them all. After exhausting his works, I started looking for other European mystery writers. I found Jussi Adler-Olsen and his recently translated book The Keeper of Lost Causes.
The novel is about a homicide detective, Carl Morck, who is taken out of the line of duty after a serious gunshot wound. Now Morck works on cold cases, and he becomes obsessed with a case of a politician who has been missing for five years.
The book was exciting, and I found myself not wanting to put it down. This book has great characters and an interesting story line. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thriller. There are several more books in this series that I look forward to being translated soon.
