Loving Frank: A Novel

Nancy Horan.

"Loving Frank" is a novel that is difficult to put down.

Mamah Borthwick Cheney, the mistress of Frank Lloyd Wright, graciously invites you into her world. When we are introduced to Mamah she is the respected wife of Edwin Cheney. After Edwin's insistence that they commission Frank Wright to build them a home in Chicago in 1903, Mamah and Frank fall passionately in love with each other. As a result, Mamah finds herself torn between the certainty of her loveless marriage and the uncertainty of loving Frank and leaving her old life behind.

"Loving Frank" is both captivating and moving. Once I started reading this novel, I found it very difficult to put it down. Mamah's character was so powerful I decided to research the real Mamah Cheney and was pleasantly surprised to find out that although this novel is fiction, it follows very closely to the real life of Mamah Borthwick Cheney. For many years, this very strong and courageous woman was only known to the world as Frank Lloyd Wright's mistress and now Nancy Horan sheds some much needed light on Mamah Borthwick Cheney.

This truly is a page turner and is a must read for anyone who enjoys historical fiction!
