To Be Sung Underwater
Everyone has regrets. We all occasionally look back at our lives and wonder "what if I had done this instead of that?"
In this perfectly written book, Judith looks back at the decision she made to leave Willie, her first love. Many years later, now married with a child, she looks closely at her current life and reminisces about her teenage years in a small Nebraskan town where she fell in love with Willie, but then went away to college and moved on to a new life with new friends. Should she contact him and reconnect? Or embrace happiness in her current life?
This is a great story, but what held my interest was the way the story was told and how connected I became to the characters. The small college town where Judith and her father lived became as real as my own. This author certainly has a wonderful way with words and I will be watching for more from him.
