It's frustrating when you can't remember something--whether it's a name or a password or how to program your TV remote. Can you imagine your memory of the significant people and events in your life wiping clear after every night's sleep? Christine has a rare form of amnesia which causes her to wake each morning with "Who am I? Where am I? Who is this man sleeping next to me?" panic. She is totally dependent on her husband, Ben, for the keys to her past 24 hours and 24 years. With Ben's help, Christine struggles to connect to the facts of her life and continually questions the difference between her memory and imagination. The story is truly a thriller and a puzzle and a scary account of life without memory that reveals itself to the listener or reader right along with the main character. In the audiobook version, the narrator reads with a British accent (it's set in England) and gives first person voice to Christine's panic and incredulity. Recommended!
