Wonderful writing! We Band of Angels is filled with facts about the Battle of Bataan and Corregidor at the very beginning of World War II. It tells the story of 66 nurses caught in the conflict--the first of their sex to be caught in combat. The book is readable and personal. An eye-opener for me.
