Bob Dylan and I grew up together--or at least I grew up with his songs as the "fabric of my life." So when I just saw (young) Bob on the cover of this CD, I expected to be singing along to a best of collection as I drove home. What a wonderful surprise! It's not just 4 CDs of Dylan songs, but 4 CDs of Dylan songs as interpreted by everyone from Johnny Cash to My Morning Jacket to Lenny Kravitz to Miley Cyrus to K'naan to My Chemical Romance to Maroon 5 to Carolina Chocolate Drops and 75 other famous artists. This all totals up to 80 Dylan songs like you've never heard them before! The songs are so familiar but the interpretations are so different that I found myself really listening to the lyrics. No matter whose interpretation, Dylan's unique poetry and songwriting are at the heart of the matter--for hours and hours of listening fun.
