Justin Townes Earle is the son of Steve Earle, a famous singer and songwriter, and named after Townes Van Zandt, also know for his songwriting. I am a big fan of what I like to call "Alternative Country," which to me is exceptionally written and performed music that doesn't fit in on today's country music channels. Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now is just that type of CD. Earle sings his songs with such emotion. He infuses a little bit of a Memphis-soul sound with the addition of a horn section on this album. Take a listen to "Memphis In The Rain" and "Baby's Got A Bad Idea," my favorite songs from the album. The Earle family also has a connection to the HBO show Treme which takes place in New Orleans. Steve Earle acts and sings in many episodes. You can hear several of Justin's songs from this album on the show.
