The Snowy Day

With fall here and winter right around the corner, I am thinking about snow and its beauty, bringing to mind the book The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

Just the cover itself with Peter looking back at his footprints conveys such a magical journey. We see a little boy wake up to a ton of snow outside his apartment and go outside to revel in it. Reading this book, you will experience all the different things Peter does, like hearing the sounds of crunching as his feet walk in the snow, making snow angels, making new tracks and trying to save a snowball in his pocket through the night.

How I loved to cuddle with my children and read this book to them and remember the excitement they shared just like Peter as they ventured into the snow!
What child doesn't love to wake up to see a blanket of white covering the entire city? A playground awaiting!

So the next time it snows, reminisce with this book and think of the beauty and remember the magic a good winter snow can bring.
