This book makes a wonderful read-aloud for preschoolers with a rhyming narrative that encourages children to participate in the story. As animals one by one fall into a deep hole, kids will delight in chanting, "OH, NO!" And the illustrations by Caldecott medalist Eric Rohmann are beautifully done and shouldn't be missed. I highly recommend this thoroughly entertaining book.
