Three Graves Full
"There is very little peace for a man with a body buried in his backyard."
Jamie Mason's debut novel Three Graves Full is a character-driven thriller full of sharp humor. After reading that fans of the Coen brothers' films would enjoy this book, I checked it out. The story starts out with the main character Jason Getty, a shy and simple guy. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he is forced to bury a body in his back yard. Every day he lives in fear that his secret will be revealed and he lets the appearance of his home deteriorate. Trying to bring a little luster back to his home, he hires a landscaping company to spruce up the front yard. Jason's secret is almost too much for him to bear when the two skeletons are discovered in the front yard. Many great characters are introduced, including the man Jason buried in the back yard, some suspicious police officers, ex-partners of the skeletons in Jason's front yard, and a dog with a sixth sense. Mason has written something completely different and very entertaining. I look forward to more by this new author and recommend this book.
