Young @ Heart
Imagine a group of elderly men and women coming together to sing. What are they singing? Where are they singing? Yes, it's true; I am trying to trick you into creating a stereotype of a choir singing "Come Thou Fount" to pews of church-goers. But what if I told you that Northampton, Massachusetts is home to one of the most entertaining and inspirational rock acts in the world? Young at Heart Chorus, a group of senior citizens with the average age of 81, has a set list including James Brown, The Ramones, David Bowie, The Clash, Sonic Youth, and Bruce Springsteen. Performing for audiences as varied as Norwegian royalty and jailbirds, Young at Heart brings audiences to their feet wherever they tour.
Winner of several audience awards, Young at Heart is a documentary about this dynamic group and is sure to please. It's cliché to call this film delightful and moving, but I'm not embarrassed to admit that I both roared with laughter and choked back tears. When two members of the group pass away within a week's time, the resilience and spirit of the choir shines through, culminating in a heart-breaking performance of Coldplay's "Fix You.". I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Loved this! It was inspiring and touching, especially during the performance of "Fix You," not to mention its delightful sense of humor. You've never seen Sonic Youth's "Schizophrenia" performed like this.
