Answer

You can print out a library card application from home in English or in Spanish.  Fill it out and bring it along with ID to your local library branch.  Parent/guardian signature is required for children under 14.

How many times can I renew items?

Answer

You may renew any Cecil County Public Library item 3 times unless the item in question is on hold for someone else.  InterLibrary Loans may be renewed once.

From anywhere on the Cecil County Public Library web site, click “My Account” at the top or left side of the page.

find out my PIN number?

Answer

Your PIN number must be obtained in person at any of the Cecil County Public Library branches. Present your library card to desk staff to receive or change your PIN number.

From anywhere on the Cecil County Public Library web site, click “My Account”, which is located at the top and on the left-hand side of each page.  Then click "Renew My Materials".

place a hold or see if I have a hold waiting?

Answer

From anywhere on the Cecil County Public Library web site, use the “catalog” search bar to search for the item you want to place on hold.  Once you are in the record for the specific item you want, click on “Place Hold” on the right-hand side of the page.  A screen will prompt you to enter your library card number, your pin number, and an expiration date (the date after which you no longer want the materials if they aren’t immediately available).  Press “Place Hold” to finish.  You can also check on your current holds by checking your account.  From anywhere on the Cecil County Public Library web site, click “My Account” at the top of the page.

place an interlibrary loan?

If you want to borrow a book that the Cecil County Public Library does not own, you may be able to borrow it by placing an interlibrary loan.  Click on Marina and then scroll down to get complete instructions.  Also, we are happy to help you place interlibrary loans.  Call us at 410-996-5600 ext. 481 or email us.

What do I do if I've lost my library card?

You can get a replacement card at any Cecil County Public Library branch.  The cost to replace a card is $2 and photo identification is required.

Can I return items borrowed from one library to another?

Items may be returned to any CCPL branch.
