How do I place an interlibrary loan?

If you want to borrow a book that the Cecil County Public Library does not own, you may be able to borrow it by placing an interlibrary loan. Click on Marina and then scroll down to get complete instructions. Also, we are happy to help you place interlibrary loans. Call us at 410-996-5600 ext. 481 or email us.

How do I get a library card?
Answer
You can print out a library card application from home in English or in Spanish. Fill it out and bring it along with ID to your local library branch. Parent/guardian signature is required for children under 14.

How can I sign up to be a volunteer?

Do you take donations for your collection?
Answer
We accept donations of gently used materials, including books, CDs and DVDs. Donated items are subject to the same evaluation criteria as material we purchase. Items we do not add to our collection may be sold to raise funds for the library, offered to community organizations or recycled. Please contact your local branch to find out more about what types of materials are accepted and if they are currently accepting donations.

What do I do if I've lost my library card?

You can get a replacement card at any Cecil County Public Library branch. The cost to replace a card is $2 and photo identification is required.

Can I check out a magazine?

Items may be returned to any CCPL branch.

Do you accept library cards from other counties?
Answer
We welcome library cards from any other Maryland county public library. However, we will need to enter your information into our system to activate your card. Please present your library card and proof of Maryland residence to desk staff to begin using your card within the Cecil County Public Library system. Examples of acceptable proof of Maryland residence include a Maryland license, other official photo ID, official mail like an electric company bill, a lease, or checkbook.
