To do this, and to use library computers, you need a
PIN.
1. Begin with a PIN!
PINs…
- Must be obtained in person
- Can be changed to something memorable
- Can contain letters, numbers, or both
2. To Access Your Account
- From anywhere on the library web page, click
Catalog at the top of the page
- Click on My Account
- Four choices appear
- Review my account
- User PIN Change
- Renew My Materials
- Change My Address
- Return to
the top of the page -
3. To Review Your Account
- Go to My Account
- Click on Review My Account
- Boxes for your User ID and PIN will appear
- Enter the 14 digit barcode, which starts with
2188500…, in the User ID box. Don’t include the spaces!
- Ignore the Alt ID box
- Enter your PIN in the PIN box
- Click on Display User Information to view the
title, author, and due date of the material you have checked out, as
well as your holds
- Return to the top of the page -
4. To Change Your PIN
- Go to My Account
- Click on User PIN Change
- Type in your User ID (with no spaces) and PIN,
ignoring the Alt ID box
- Enter a new PIN, choosing something you can easily
remember
- Re-type your new PIN in the second box
- Click on Change PIN
- Your new PIN will be updated automatically
- Ask a librarian if you have trouble or if you
forget your PIN
- Return to
the top of the page -
5. To Renew Materials
- Go to My Account
- Click on Renew My Materials
- Type in your User ID (no spaces) and PIN, ignoring
the Alt ID box
- To renew some of your items
- Click on List Charged Items
- Click in the box to the left of each item you
would like to renew
- Click on Renew Selected Items at the
bottom of the page
- To renew all of your items
- Click on the Renew All circle near the top
of the page
- Click on Renew Selected Items at the
bottom of the page
- Make a note of the new due date on the date sticker
on the item
If you have reached your renewal limit or if there are
holds on an item, that item cannot be renewed and you will receive a
message stating item failed to be renewed. Click OK at the bottom of the
page to finish the transaction.
Please note: Make your
renewal before the due date or you will be charged late fees for the
days between the due date and your renewal date.

6. To Change Your Address
- Go to My Account
- Click Change My Address
- Type in your new address in the City, State, Zip,
and Phone boxes
- Click Place Request
- At the next screen, click OK
Your request takes a few days to be processed.

the top of the page -
7. To Place Materials on Hold
- Search the catalog to find the item you require
- If there is more than one title, click on the
Details box to the left of the item you have selected
- Click on Place Hold, which is found to the
left of the item information
- Fill in your User ID and Pin, ignoring the Alt ID
box
- Click on the button to the right of the Pickup
At box to select the library location where you would like to
receive your material
- Select that library location by clicking on it
- Click on Place Hold
- Confirm your hold by clicking OK
- Return to
the top of the page -
8. To Cancel Your Hold
- Follow the instructions in #3
- Scroll to where your holds are listed
- Click in the box next to the hold you would like to
cancel
- Click on Cancel Selected Holds
- Confirm your choice by clicking OK
- Return to
the top of the page -
9. To Request an Inter-Library Loan
- If the materials you require are not available
within the Cecil County Public Library system, you may search
libraries throughout Maryland
- From the Cecil County Public Library web page,
click on Catalog
- Click the I Need Material bar
- Click Inter-Library Loan via MARINA
- From the
MARINA page,
choose Cecil County via the drop-down menu
- Type in your 14-digit User ID number from the back
of your library card into the Patron ID box, not including the spaces
- Click Login
- Click Searching/Requesting to begin your
search
- You can also see how many active inter-library
requests you have by selecting Review Your Requests.
