FAQs:

  • Is there a theme?  Yes! The theme this year is: "Time Is Running Out!" Participants must tell a story about a person, place, or thing where time is a factor. It can be any genre but should be creative and thrilling. Remember to make time a major factor driving the plot - time is running out!

  • How long should my film run?  Films must be 5 minutes or less.

  • Who can enter?  Anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 by May 7, 2015 and who has not graduated high school can enter the competition.

  • What kind of film can I make?  Keeping the "Time Is Running Out!" theme in mind, if you need ideas for the type of film you could create, try these... Documentary or "Moc"umentary, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Public Service Announcement, People/Community - "Where I'm from", Land/Landscape/Environmental, Animation, Personal Narrative or Experimental.

  • How many times can I enter?  Participants may appear in multiple films as actors, but can only submit one film as director. PLEASE NOTE! There is ONE prize for each winning film which will be awarded to the Director. If you are working as a team, you must elect a Head Director who will take on the main responsibilities of creating the film and will be given the award. The "Director" section of all paperwork should have the Head Director's name and information.

  • What can I win?  Prizes include: First Prize-$100 Visa card; Second Prize-$50 Visa card; Third Prize-$25; "Editor's Choice Award"-$50 Visa card (thanks for the Cecil Whig!)

  • What should I submit and when?  Films and registration forms must be submitted to any CCPL Branch by 8pm on Thursday, May 1st.
