Step Four: Your Online
Resources This step is in two parts:
Part A: The eLibrary (eBooks
and digital audio books), from Maryland's Digital eLibrary Consortium.
Part B: Databases (Free
information without the clutter), provided through the CCPL Web site and
catalog.
Part A:
Maryland's Digital eLibrary Consortium
to provide access to eBooks (for reading) and digital audio books (for
listening) from your home computer.
Maryland's Digital eLibrary
Consortium offers a wide variety of audio books and eBooks from fiction to
texts. The following steps will introduce you to this growing resource:
The first time you want to use the eLibrary, download the free Adobe and
Overdrive software. Just follow the prompts. It doesn't take long and you
only have to do it once. To see more about this software and your
computer's requirements, follow this link:

Look in the "help" area for system
details.
Now you are ready to check out and
download eBooks and digital audio books. This Statewide collection is
rapidly growing.
For convenience, these electronic books are checked out for three weeks
and then are automatically returned. This means there are no late fees on
eLibrary materials.
If you place a hold on an item, you will be notified by email when it
becomes available.
All digital audio books can be downloaded to your pc and burned to disks,
so you can listen in your car or convert to MP3players - including iPods.
Check the copyright restrictions to downloading, copying and printing.
You can find this information by clicking on the title of the eBook or
digital audio book you are interested in, and scrolling to the bottom of
the page. Adobe also supports audio accessibility for most of the eBooks.
