Some things are just meant to be together… chocolate and peanut butter. Football and tailgating. Ying and Yang.
To this list of perfect pairings, I would also add the following: books and food!
One of my favorite pastimes on a cool fall night is to curl up with a good book and a bowl of something delicious. Now, I’m not a great cook, but I make a mean macaroni and cheese casserole. And I know I’m not the only one who loves to read and eat… so at Cecil County Public Library, we’ve created the perfect chance for those of you who love books and cooking to combine those two loves: our Cook the Books contest! October is National Book Month and to celebrate, CCPL is asking our patrons to use their imaginations and create an edible version of their favorite book, character from a book or pun on a book title. The best part is we all get to eat the creations!
Everyone is invited to participate, and you can enter individually, as a family or with a group of friends. Get as elaborate or simple as you like, and your entry just might win a Visa gift card, baking accessories, or other great prizes. To read more about Cook the Books and to enter, click this link or stop by any CCPL branch for more info.
And while you’re thinking about what to enter, tell us — what do you like to nibble while you’re reading?
