Maryland STEM Festival October 2-November 1

The Maryland STEM Festival is a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that takes place every fall. This year’s festival will take place virtually with libraries, schools, and educational groups across Maryland offering a series of online STEM programs for children and teens.

As part of this year’s Festival, Cecil County Public Library is offering the following online events for children and teens.

The NASA Space Network 
Tuesday, October 13, 2020
6:30pm - 7:30pm
Did you know that a network of satellites orbits above Earth to send messages to scientists on the ground? Meet these scientists from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and learn about their work. Ages 8-17. 

NASA Robotics
Friday, October 16, 2020
6:30pm - 7:30pm
When NASA's scientists are faced with fixing satellites, refueling spacecraft, or repairing equipment in space, they turn to robotics for help. Learn about these robotic missions from scientists at NASA Goddard's Space Flight Center. Ages 8-17.

Kids' Academy Online: Titanic Sink or Float

Educational activities for homeschoolers and other children in non-traditional school settings. Please call the library to register and to select a branch to pick up materials before the program. Ages 6-11.

Teen Night Online: Mad Science Trivia

Join Cecil County Public Library's teen librarians for a live Kahoot trivia game. Designed for families with teens ages 11-17 to play together.
