Harvard, 1995. Enter the mind of Selin, the daughter of two Turkish immigrants. Wrapped up in the concept of language, she begins an e-mail correspondence with her Hungarian classmate, Ivan. “The Idiot” is a whip-smart, honest, funny coming-of-age story, and Selin is like a friend you’ve always wanted. My personal favorite book of 2017 so far.
