This hilarious and expressive autobiography is one of my favorite graphic novels. It follows the tribulations and adventures of Jin, a Chinese-American teen with two immigrant parents. Jin faces racism and struggles to be accepted in his all white school and community. The graphic novel brilliantly interweaves Chinese folklore with themes of acceptance, identity, and stereotypes. Through three stories within the novel, we see Jin find acceptance not only from the other students but with his own identity.
