Diagnosed with leukemia when she was 12 years old, Tessa is now 16 and has only months to live.  Knowing time is of the essence, she makes a list of several things she wants to do before she dies.  The reader follows along as Tessa breaks the law, says yes to everything for a day, and falls in love.  While some experiences are more worthwhile than others, they all force Tessa to deal with her situation and the effect it's having on the people she loves.  As cancer steals her away, and she faces death, Tessa learns what it really means to be alive.
