CCPL's Reopening Roadmap

*The timeline will be updated as we continue to receive guidance from local and state health officials

Phase 1: March 2020
  • Library buildings closed to the public
  • In-person programming replaced by virtual programming for all ages
  • Book drops closed; All fines waived
  • New and expanded digital resources added for the public
Phase 2: June 2020
  • Library buildings remain closed to the public
  • Contactless Pickup begins at 4 locations
  • Services available by phone at 6 locations
  • Wi-Fi access extended to parking lots in all library locations
  • All fines waived
  • Book drops open for returns at all locations; all items quarantined for a minimum of 96 hours
  • Virtual programming continues
Phase 3: July and August 2020
  • Library buildings remain closed to the public
  • Contactless Pickup expanded to 5 locations
  • Contactless Printing begins at 5 locations
  • Services continue to be available by phone at 6 locations
  • Wi-Fi access available in parking lots in all library locations
  • Read and Return carts available at 2 locations
  • Marina, Maryland’s Inter-library loan service, is reinstated
  • Bookmobile resumes service to youth camps and neighborhoods
  • CCPL’s 1st StoryTrail opens at Calvert Regional Park
  • Book drops continue to be open; all returned items quarantined for a minimum of 96 hours
  • All fines waived
  • Virtual programming continues
Phase 4: Fall 2020 (anticipated)
  • Select locations open to the public at decreased capacity and with social distancing and safety protocols in place.
  • Limited access to computers and collections
  • Contactless Pickup and Printing to continue
  • Wi-Fi access available to parking lots in all library locations
  • Book drops remain open; all returned items quarantined for a minimum of 96 hours
  • All fines waived
  • Virtual programming continues
Phase 5: To be determined
  • All library locations open to public
  • Access to computers and collections restored
  • Public programs resume
  • Public Meeting Rooms available
